Strategic Planning and Evaluation
Knowing where to invest resources and determining whether those investments pay off are critical needs for the UCRF's success. The Fund has initiated strategic planning and evaluation efforts to meet these needs.
- Strategic Planning:
The Fund has hired AltshulerGray LLC to lead strategic planning. Based in Boston, MA, AltshulerGray LLC has outstanding experience in research strategic planning, particularly in academic research centers of excellence. A draft final plan to guide fund development is expected by mid-2009.
To help guide the UCRF Strategic Plan, AltshulerGray is soliciting broad input in several ways. A survey of UNC faculty was conducted in August and a report summarizing the survey results is available.
This survey and the UCRF strategic planning process will be the subject of a town hall faculty meeting at 4:00 pm on November 6, 2008, in the Pagano COnference Room at the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center building. A second meeting will be scheduled for those who are unable to attend the first meeting. - Evaluation:
Constella Group LLC has been selected to develop plans to evaluate the Fund's impact on cancer research, UNC-Chapel Hill, and North Carolina. A draft final plan is expected by mid-2009.
